Health Care Reform

America, as a collective we screwed the pooch on election night 2008. Just look at what we’ve done. We elected a president that’s never been in charge of anything and as a consequence he has been trying to decide for over 3 months on whether we should commit to Afghanistan or pull out. In the meantime young Americans are losing their lives in a war that our president can’t decide whether he’s committed to. We might as well say that his indecision is killing young Americans. We went from “I’m the decider.” to Mr. Indecisive and people are dieing because of it. We shouldn’t be surprised that somebody who’s never had a chance to lead finds a leadership role paralyzing. Unfortunately, there isn’t somebody else that can step up and nudge him along. He’ll either decide to leave our allies in Afghanistan or continue to let our military people get killed until Americans force him to make a decision. That’s not all the damage we did on election night. Nope, we had to go and elect more Democrats to the House and Senate. Holy crap! The Democrats are in charge of everything! After spending money that we don’t have for an omnibus bill, stimulus bill, cash4 clunkers bill, etc. we are still arguing over health care. This health care debate is crazy. We thought we might be relieved when we heard that the House of Representatives finally passed a health care bill. We thought so until people got to read through it. OMG! Look what Nancy Pelosi and the other Democrats put in it.

This is a brief analysis from the League of American Voters.

“The nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation reported that the House version of the healthcare bill specifies that those who don't buy health insurance and do not pay the fine of about 2.5 percent of their income for failing to do so can face a penalty of up to five years in prison!

The bill describes the penalties as follows:

* Section 7203 — Misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

* Section 7201 — Felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years." [page 3]

That anyone should face prison for not buying health insurance is simply incredible.

And how much will the stay-out-of-jail insurance cost? The joint committee noted that "according to a recent analysis by the Congressional Budget Office, the lowest-cost family non-group plan under HR 3862 (the Pelosi bill) would cost $15,000 by 2016."

Obama's bill provides only subsidies to help pay this enormous sum after families making about $45,000 have paid 8 percent of their income for insurance and after those earning a household income of about $65,000 have kicked in 12 percent.”

That’s what the League of American Voters had to say about it. That doesn’t sound very promising. Let’s look at the number used in the previous examples.

Pelosi’s plan costs a family $1,250 per month!

Here’s what Obama’s plan would cost American families.

8% of $45,000 is $3,600 or $300 per month.

12% of $65,000 is $7,800 or $650 per month.

Obama’s plan isn’t even the total amount of the premiums. This is just what Americans have to pay before they even “qualify” for government assistance to pay the full premiums. There’s no guarantee that everybody who qualifies will be approved for the subsidies. The income levels used in these examples would only qualify as “rich” in some third-world countries. They certainly wouldn’t qualify in the United States. At best, these examples are middle-class in the United States. How many middle-class families can just write a check for those amounts without making sacrifices? What will they give up to pay Pelosi’s premiums? Will their children have a college fund? Forget college, what will they eat?

How did the Democrats get the reputation for looking out for the poor? Certainly not with schemes like this.

OMG! Let’s get these bureaucrats out of there and elect some real down-to-earth people who can balance a checkbook and think for themselves. Are they serious? They’re talking about jail time for somebody who can’t come up with the money for medical insurance premiums? In this economy? Three hots & a cot, right? There’s free medical care in jail without having to worry about premiums.

If the Senate passes a health care bill then the premiums are a mandate from Congress. If a person doesn’t pay them they are subject to heavy fines and up to 5 years in jail! People, this is an elaborate scheme to levy more taxes on you. Health care will not be free and as the examples show, the middle-class will be taxed heavily. You will pay through the nose for bureaucratic government health care and if you don’t pay then Nancy Pelosi wants to throw your ass in jail. Families will find a way to pay those premiums or else. Here’s the kicker, Nancy Pelosi and the other House Democrats put in some stiff penalties for those who refuse to get adequate insurance. Those penalties include up to 5 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine. If you think those premiums are expensive then try coming up with $250,000 for a fine. Even though the bill says “up to $250,000” you can forget about anything less than the maximum penalty because this health care bill relies on those fines to help finance it. The CBO estimates that $33 billion in fines would come from individuals who “chose” not to get health insurance. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to deciding between feeding my family or buying insurance the decision is easy. My family has got to eat. That’s one of the most basic of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

Now, I’m beginning to understand why the Democrats aren’t willing to forego the luxurious health plans afforded the members of Congress and put their own families under this new wonderful plan. Anything less than what our lawmakers receive is a disservice to the American people. To write a bill that provides less than what our lawmakers receive is more than an injustice to the American taxpayer. It’s cause for revolt. To force Americans to pay for crappy health care while they enjoy a much better plan paid for by the very taxpayers they threaten to imprison brings to mind class warfare that expired centuries ago. We are now looking at the new serfs and royalty in the United States. You will pay or you will go to jail.

The only option we have left is the Senate. If the Senate passes a health care bill, even a good one, it will be consolidated with the garbage bill passed by the Democrats in the House of Representatives. When it comes back to the Senate floor it will only require a simple majority to pass the Senate. That’s only 50 votes and the Democrats have more than that number in the Senate. So, passing a bill in the Senate is not even an option that the American people can afford. The line must be held with the filibuster. It takes 60 votes to stop a filibuster. If the filibuster can be held then the bill won’t even come up for a vote in the Senate and it can’t be watered down by the trashy bill passed by the House of Representatives. Since Nancy Pelosi pushed a garbage bill through the House of Representatives Americans can’t risk it being combined with and tainting a good bill that might be passed by the Senate. Americans need to wait until the next session of Congress and start over on health care.

Pelosi’s bill ignores the cause of the high cost of medical care. She blames the hospitals, doctors, insurance companies, etc. Yet she refuses to face facts. The facts are that doctors get their asses sued off in medical malpractice suits over simple things using junk science to deceive juries. We’ve all heard the stories of somebody getting the wrong leg amputated or being sewn up with a surgical instrument inside them. Those are legitimate malpractice suits and those aren’t what the Republicans are talking about when they mention tort reform. To avoid a potential lawsuit doctors run every possible test even if they already have a diagnosis. Remember John Edwards the former Democrat Senator that ran for the Democrat party’s nomination for president? He’s a millionaire. He made his money as a lawyer representing people in medical malpractice lawsuits. The Republicans keep shouting that they want tort reform in any health care bill. Nancy Pelosi and the other Democrats ignore their calls. The reason the Democrats won’t address tort reform is because the American Bar Association and it’s members (lawyers) are huge contributors to the Democrat party. If the health care bill limits medical malpractice to something reasonable then the lawyers will lose out on a source of income and the Democrats will see reduced campaign contributions from the American Bar Association and its members.

Apparently, the American Bar Association has more pull with Democrats than senior citizens do. The Democrats are pulling over $500 billion dollars from the health care system devoted to senior citizens (Medicare) to put it towards this new health care plan. Is anybody fooled into thinking that won’t translate into less care for grandma?

America, you’ve been sold down the river for politics. Make no mistake about it, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats don’t care about you until its time to campaign for your vote again. They don’t care whether you get health care or not. They’ll do whatever it takes to get your vote. They think a health care bill will get your vote. They think a health care bill that provides health care for illegal aliens will guarantee them the Hispanic vote. Oh, I forgot about that part didn’t I? A requirement to check legal status of patients was something else the Republicans asked for. They didn’t want the American taxpayer footing the bill for somebody that isn’t even supposed to be here. The Democrats ignored that too or maybe they took a calculated risk and decided that senior citizens will die before they need their votes again. Why else would they take health benefits away from American senior citizens and allow them to be given to illegal aliens? “But Nancy Pelosi said…” Like she’s never lied to us before, right? That woman has changed her tune so many times just on the public option that nobody knew for sure which way she would go until after it passed the House. She was worse than John Kerry on flip-flopping when it came to the public option. Then she finally started calling it the “consumer option” because she thinks the American people are too stupid to know it’s the same exact thing as the public option that Americans protested against and voiced their outrage against at town hall meetings in August.

The entire House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate is up for re-election in 2010. Contact your Senators and let them know that a health care bill should reform the entire system including medical malpractice lawsuits, it shouldn’t have jail terms for people that can’t afford premiums that are certain to increase over time, it shouldn’t cover people coming here illegally from other countries to clog our medical system and it shouldn’t take money from Medicare. Let them know that no bill should be combined with the bill that made it out of the House of Representatives and they need to wait until the next session of Congress and start from scratch. If your Senator is up for re-election in 2010 let him or her know that you’re aware of this and that their vote on health care will weigh heavily on your vote come election time. Exercise your rights to be Americans and make your representatives represent you! Force them to do their jobs!

Veterans

“Thanks for your service to our Country.”

I don’t know one single veteran that signed up so they could one day hear those words.

When they come I never know how to respond. Normally, it's all I can do to nod and turn away before my eyes begin to water. “You’re welcome” sounds so arrogant.

Veterans don’t expect lifetime civilians to know what our military lives were like. That civilians don’t know is a testament to the men and women who join our military.

This Veteran’s Day if you should happen to thank a veteran try not to be offended if he or she quickly turns away.

Cash 4 Clunkers or the Stimulus Bill?

Now, the White House is claiming that 600,000 jobs were created or SAVED. That’s another first for President Obama. He’s the first president to ever claim to have “saved” jobs and count them as a victory. Economists don’t count “saved” jobs because there’s no criteria to measure saved jobs with. That’s just more fuzzy math being done by the Democrats to show that all of their excessive pork-barrel spending is producing something. If a President has to rely on a new category called “saved” jobs then the spending wasn’t worth it. Even if the spending had created 600,000 new jobs it could be argued that it wasn’t worth the trillions spent. The government could hire 600,000 additional people for less than $1 trillion.

We didn’t hear about this fuzzy logic from the mainstream media. Instead, it took a sharp reporter from the very same news channel that the White House has already tried to discredit. The reporter was Fox News’ Major Garrett and he caught Robert Gibbs, the White House Press Secretary, in a doozy of a lie. On October 29, 2009 Robert Gibbs credited the Cash 4 Clunkers program for increasing our domestic growth by 1.7% in the third quarter. Then at a White House press conference the very next day Robert Gibbs said that our economy grew by 3.5% in the third quarter. So far, the numbers add up until you hear what Gibbs’ credited with the entire 3.5% of growth. The stimulus bill! When Major Garrett reminded him of the previous day’s briefing Gibbs backtracked in his usual way and attempted to make Garrett appear as the dummy who couldn’t do simple addition and subtraction. Garrett’s numbers were dead on, but Gibbs stuck to his guns and looked all the dumber for having done so. Garrett asked Gibbs if he meant that the stimulus bill was responsible for what was leftover after subtracting the 1.7% credited to cash 4 clunkers the previous day. Gibbs said “no” and again reiterated that the stimulus bill was responsible for the entire growth of 3.5%. Robert Gibbs “here’s your sign!” as a famous comedian is fond of saying.

Robert Gibbs must be the dumbest White House Press Secretary ever. Robert Gibbs is the perfect example of what I call being a “victim of your own stupidity”. At least previous presidents were smart enough to surround themselves with smart people. Obama and Rahm Emanuel seem to have gone the opposite direction with Gibbs. Remember, this is the same man that suggested Obama’s DNA might satisfy the question of where he was born. Thankfully, Gibbs didn’t try to explain how that would work since the question wasn’t who Obama’s parents are.

I’ve watched Gibbs give several press conferences and I’m only impressed by his smugness while simultaneously demonstrating his stupidity. This man is representing not only Obama, but our nation. He is the person that the worldwide media gets their information from. Obama needs to replace Gibbs with somebody who can give a press conference without stepping on his d*ck. If they refuse to get rid of Gibbs then at least lock him in the john so somebody smart can give the press conference.

How did the rest of the White House press corps react after this exchange? “I need a cup of coffee.” Is one comment that I heard.

Another target of the White House over the cash 4 clunkers report was Edmunds. A long established authority on the automotive industry, Edmunds disputed that 1.7% was attributable to the cash 4 clunkers program. In fact, Edmunds suggested that 84% of the vehicles sold during the program would have been sold without the cash 4 clunkers program. Uh-oh, it looks like the White House has some “splaining to do”. With Robert Gibbs-like intelligence the White House attempted to fall back on smug sarcasm and make reference to cars being sold on Mars.

Way to go, Obama! Your White House press secretary is a reflection on you and yours happens to be an idiot. Here’s hoping you’ll wise up and hire somebody who can carry on a conversation without being an ass.

To Major Garrett, excellent job! If the rest of the media outlets followed your lead they might learn how to do their jobs instead of being the president’s “yes” men. Are you paying attention Helen Thomas? Where is that reporter that everybody used to hate for arguing with Tony Snow when he was the White House Press Secretary? Stop kissing Gibbs’ ass and be the cranky witch you used to be. America needs you.

Slavery and the American Civil War

The American Civil War was the bloodiest conflict this nation has ever been involved in. Yet many people still don’t know why it was fought. Many are still under the misperception that it was fought over slavery. Talk about rewriting history. A short chronological timeline tells the truth.

Southern states began to secede from the United States in January 1861 after Lincoln’s election, but before he had been inaugurated. The southern states asked that the United States surrender the forts in the southern states, but President Buchanan refused. In response the southern troops seized them. The most famous of these was Fort Sumter, which was only under siege. Lincoln was inaugurated in March 1861.

On April 12, 1861 the southern troops fired on Fort Sumter to compel the fort commander’s surrender. This began the American Civil War. It’s interesting to note that 4 slave states remained in the Union. West Virginia was created out of the western counties of Virginia when Virginia seceded.

Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation wasn’t issued until January 1, 1863. This was 2 years AFTER the events at Fort Sumter. Even Abraham Lincoln’s much credited Emancipation Proclamation didn’t end slavery. He told his cabinet about it in July 1862, but he needed a victory on the battlefield to launch his plan. That victory came in September 1862 at Antietam. After the victory he announced that the Emancipation Proclamation would go into effect on January 1, 1863 and would apply to all slaves in Confederate territory UNLESS the southern states surrender. Southern lands already in the hands of the Union were exempt. Lincoln’s threat of ending slavery in the south was aimed at bringing a quick end to the war and not at freeing the slaves. Instead, the war dragged on for another 3 years.

In the summer of 1863 Congress instituted a draft in the Union. This caused riots in the streets. The most well known was in New York City where blacks were attacked and lynched in the streets. Apparently, the idea of being forced to fight to free slaves wasn’t very popular even in the northern states.

So, if the attack on Fort Sumter was credited with starting the American Civil War then how could the war have been caused by slavery? Abraham Lincoln was opposed to slavery, but he had also said during his campaign that he wasn’t going to abolish it.

That war was fought over state’s rights. The leadership in the southern states didn’t like the way they were being treated and several voted to leave the United States. The Federal government was counting slaves to determine taxes, but was ignoring them when it came to figuring out the number of representatives in Congress. The southern states formed their own central government called the Confederate States and they were determined to rule themselves. When they seceded they asked the Union troops to leave the forts, but they refused. This was the equivalent of a foreign army on their land. The people of those states and their state government’s didn’t consider themselves part of the United States anymore and they didn’t want the United States troops in their states. The Federal government ignored their wishes and chose to stay put. It was the desire of the southern states to exercise their independence from the United States that caused them to attack those forts.

The issue of slavery came along after the war had begun and after Lincoln had become President. It was a byproduct of the war, but certainly not the cause of it. The most ironic thing of all is that of those 4 slave states that remained in the Union the Emancipation Proclamation applied to none of them because they hadn’t seceded from the Union.

Congress passed the proposed 13th Amendment in January 1865. When Lincoln was assassinated in April 1865 the future amendment still hadn’t been ratified by enough states to become part of the U.S. Constitution. That didn’t happen until December 1865.

The American Civil War was fought over state’s rights and the side fighting for those rights lost the war. It’s a total rewrite of history to claim that the American Civil War was fought over slavery or that Abraham Lincoln ended slavery. Lincoln wasn’t even alive when slavery ended!
It must be pretty tough to explain to kids that the President of the United States decided that certain people couldn't be in control of their own destinies and rule themselves. It must be even tougher to explain that Lincoln only issued his Emancipation Proclamation as a threat to compel the southern states to surrender. That’s why children are taught that the American Civil War was fought over slavery instead of independence.

The situation that Americans find themselves in today is certainly unique to our country, but has been played out all across the globe in the past. Ineligibles have assumed power in other nations before and it could finally be happening in our country. The truth is that we don’t know for sure. The reason that we don’t know for sure is that Barack Obama refuses to release his original birth certificate. Everybody is aware of the “copy” that was posted on his website. If you haven’t seen it here it is again directly from his website.

To anybody paying attention this is quickly recognized as not being the original. Do we really need the word “LASER” in the bottom left corner to point that out to us? Not when the revision date says “11/01”. This revision was released in either November 2001 or 1901. Since Hawaii wasn’t a state in 1901 we know this revision couldn’t have been adopted in 1901. Further evidence is the political correctness displayed with the parents’ race. Political correctness hadn’t even been dreamed up in 1901. In 1901 the father’s race would more than likely said something like “black”, “Negro” or maybe even “colored” while the mother’s race would more than likely have said “white”. This form must have been adopted in 2001. Since Obama claims to have been born 40 years prior in 1961 this can’t be the original birth certificate.

Not too long ago another birth certificate was submitted to and accepted by a California court. This birth certificate is supposedly from Kenya and has rarely been mentioned by our national news yet it has been accepted as evidence by a court of law. Since few news agencies have reported on this birth certificate it’s unlikely to have been seen by many people compared to the certificate on Obama’s website so here is a copy of that birth certificate taken from World Net Daily.


Comparing the two documents we can tell that the one posted on the Obama website is computer generated further questioning its credibility. The document listing Obama’s place of birth as Kenya appears to be typewritten, as any document in 1961 would have been. This is obviously not a copy generated after November 2001. The truth is that we don’t really know when it was generated or where it came from. All that we know about this certificate is that it was submitted as evidence to a court of law by an attorney in California. Since attorneys aren’t known to be the most scrupulous people on the planet the origins of this document must be considered suspect.

Which of these two documents is correct regarding Obama’s place of birth? We just don’t know for sure. One document obviously is not an original while the other appears to be an original. The reason that we don’t know for sure which document is an original is because Barack Obama still refuses to release the original document. Despite numerous court cases where litigants have demanded the release of his original birth certificate Obama thus far has been successful in preventing it’s release.

Estimates are that Barack Obama has spent over $13. 5 million for his attorneys to fight these court cases to prevent the release of the document. Rather than release his original birth certificate Obama would rather spend over $13.5 million to prevent it’s release. The obvious question is “Why?” Why would a man spend an amount that most Americans will never make in their lifetimes just to keep a document secret? Since Obama was sworn in as our President we’ve witnessed him backtrack on several campaign promises so it’s highly unlikely that he is fighting the document’s release based on principle. This leads one to conclude that Barack Obama has something to hide and that he believes it to be so damaging to him that he feels it is worth spending over $13.5 million to keep the secret.

If he wants to spend his own money to keep the secret then that’s his business. Since Obama’s political action committee has merged with the Democratic National Committee it’s the money of his campaign contributors and the Democratic National Committee. I don’t think too highly of Democrats anyway so let them waste their political contributions on this sort of thing.
What I’m concerned about more than the politics, more than him taking over the banking industry, our auto industry, our healthcare system, the internet, etc. is far more dearer to my heart. Remember, my background is military and we’re currently at war. What ignites the fire within me about this whole situation is the possibility that somebody who may not even qualify to be our President according to the U.S. Constitution could be acting as our commander-in-chief. Obama is making decisions to send our military men & women into combat situations and he’s deciding how much equipment and funding to send them with. Even the “bush-haters” who said “supported the troops, oppose the war” should be fired up over this. They should be demanding the original birth certificate. Where are those people who claimed to be troop supporters? Where are those people that stood up and clapped for me and my brothers in arms in JFK airport when we returned from Iraq? I’ll tell you where they are. They’re turning a blind eye to the plight of our military men and women. They’re doing what they always do when action needs to be taken. They sit on their hands and wait for somebody else to do the ugly things that need doing. Dammit! You people make me sick! You candy-asses should be marched into the oceans to never be heard from again. I know some of our military people and I do my part to support them not just through my words, but through my actions as well. Although I’m retired from the military I still work side by side with them. By your silence and inaction you people have demonstrated once again that nothing means as much to you as your political views and you won’t set them aside for anything including another American life even an American life that has sworn to defend you and your freedoms. For their sacrifices our military people and their families deserve so much better than a silent populace waiting for the next handout from Obama and his ilk. They deserve so much better than those who will protest against their cause and ignore them when they need your voice. They deserve so much better than what the United States has become. They deserve so much better than you.

Racism In Politics

I’m fed up with race bating and the false allegations of racism. All Americans should feel the same way. I’m talking about this whole racism thing being tossed around because of legitimate criticism of political ideals. Since when did it become racist to have a different opinion? Is this what we’re to expect simply because we have a part black president? What should we expect when we get our first full—blooded black president? Will charges of sexist be thrown about when we get our first female president?

We saw the racism during the Presidential primaries when Obama’s supporters accused Hillary and Bill of being racist. That accusation was rooted not in genuine racism, but in the inability of the Obama camp to come up with a counter-argument when Bill Clinton pointed out "Jesse Jackson won South Carolina in '84 and '88. Jackson ran a good campaign. And Obama ran a good campaign here." Bill’s point was that despite winning that state’s primary Jackson still didn’t get his party’s nomination. He was pointing out that one state doesn’t seal up a nomination. It had nothing to do with race, but “racism” was tossed out there as a trump card to divert people’s attention from the fact that Bill Clinton was right. It’s a historical fact and that doesn’t make a person a racist because Jesse Jackson just happens to be black.

I can think of one instance when citing the example of Jesse Jackson would make a person a racist. That would be those people that can’t seem to get over the fact that Jesse Jackson is black and that Barack Obama is part black. Of all of the criticism I’ve heard of Obama and his plan not one of them was based on race. So if his critics aren’t the ones bringing up his race then who is?

Let’s take Janeane Garofalo as an example. When the TEA parties were forming all across our nation the comedic genius and social idiot Ms. Garofalo referred to the protesters as “teabaggers” and “racist rednecks”. (A side note for the uninitiated, “teabagging” is a sex act where the scrotum is dunked into another person’s mouth. No doubt Ms. Garofalo knows this and purposely chose “teabagger” to describe those people gutsy enough to protest against higher taxes and the increasing deficit of our Federal government.) Again, it was the Obama supporter who brought up his race as a talking point. For those who don’t understand the significance of TEA it is an acronym for “Taxed Enough Already”. The protestors were protesting the excessive spending of the politicians in Washington D.C. I’m still waiting for Ms. Garofalo to explain how exorbitant spending is related to a person’s skin tone. Maybe she’s suggesting that Obama is too stupid to balance a checkbook because of his race. If that’s her point then who really is the racist? Ms. Garofalo needs to interrogate the person in the mirror and face the truth.

The latest person to claim racism is former President Jimmy Carter. He’s another fine example of what Democrats think America should be. Jimmy Carter was elected as our 39th President in 1976. I still remember his campaign ads about him being a peanut farmer from Georgia. He was swept into office on the heels of a Gerald Ford presidency that was tied to the failed Nixon Presidency. At that point people were looking for anything to replace the corruption responsible for the Watergate scandal. Jimmy Carter presided over the worst recession this nation has seen since the great depression. Today’s recession is nothing compared to what was experienced during the Carter administration. There were lines for gasoline that wrapped around the block. It’s during the Carter administration that Iran became a household word in America. Iranian students stormed our embassy and took Americans hostage. They were held hostage for over a year for the duration of the Carter presidency. The nightly news kept the tally of how long American citizens had been held. The hostages weren’t released until Ronald Reagan was elected and prepared to take his oath of office. No other President has ever allowed the United States to be so disgraced as Jimmy Carter did. In recent years Jimmy Carter has written a book critical of Israel and sympathetic to the Palestinians. Remember, the Palestinians keep sending suicide bombers into Israel to blow up the civilian population. I believe that Jimmy Carter still harbors some guilt for what he put our nation through when he was our President. I think that’s why he was so involved with Habitat For Humanity and why he has recently gone rogue and tried to make himself a mediator in foreign affairs. He has done this on his own and against the advice of current Presidents. It could be argued that Jimmy Carter has been on the wrong side of every issue he’s spoken out on for over 30 years. So, it should come as no surprise that when Representative Joe Wilson yelled “You Lie!” during President Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress Jimmy Carter interpreted this to be “You Lie, boy!” and yelled “racism!” The term “boy” is still considered a racist term when used by a white person towards a black man.

Since Democrats seem to pay so much attention to skin color rather than a person’s words and actions it could reasonably be argued that Democrats look at Americans and see color. This could easily lead to the conclusion that Democrats are racists. I’ve spent enough time in family courts to realize a common pattern of human behavior. That pattern is this; the first person to make an allegation of cheating is usually the guilty party. Given my previous examples I think the Democrats regarding charges of racism have established the same pattern.

I grew up in a military family and retired from the military myself. The military is probably the best institution for combating racism. It wasn’t always that way, but we’ve come a long way since WWII. These days it doesn’t matter what gender or race an individual is they can still reach the top of their profession in the military. I don’t care what race or color our president is. I simply disagree with his philosophy. If he were a conservative I might consider having a beer with him

I dislike President Obama because he seems to believe just the opposite of everything I believe. I think that teaching a man to be self-sufficient teaches him to provide for himself everyday, but Barack Obama would prefer to take money from those who have it and simply give it to those who don’t without regard for who earned it or even considering how the poor man would get more money when his stimulus, welfare or unemployment check ran out. To me, this victimizes the poor man by interrupting his efforts to better his life and by providing him with false hope. I dislike Obama’s policies because he doesn’t care to fix our nation’s problems in the long term. He seems content to just pass out money and put off the problems for another day. It’s my belief that our government can’t sustain these handouts without increasing its own revenue. The way a government collects revenue is through taxes. The huge deficits that Obama is racking up will have to be reconciled someday and by that time they’ll have accrued large amounts of interest. The Democrats show no signs of slowing down either. They’ve been pushing their version of health care reform despite protests and rallies in opposition. This past weekend saw a huge rally in the National Mall in Washington D.C. that opposed Obama’s healthcare reform. Some estimates were as high 1 million people in attendance. Add in the smaller protests at the same time that took place at state capitols all around the country and there’s a huge movement that opposes Obama’s policies. Are we to believe all of these people are simply racist and don’t like a good idea just because it’s being pushed by a black man?

Obama has also made it known that he’s going to pursue his cap & trade bill right after healthcare reform is over. With millions of jobs having been lost since Obama took office how does he intend to pay for any of this? Even China has declined to loan us more money.
The Democrats, Jeneane Garofalos and Jimmy Carters of the world need to look at themselves in the mirror and come up with a better argument than “racist” because from what I hear Americans are tired of this over-used trump card being thrown out to stifle debate. In the end their party is the one that keeps reminding us that our president is black and it will be that constant reminder that will cause American voters to think twice the next time a minority runs for President because they’ll be reminded of not just the failures of the current administration, but the ugly false allegations being levied against those who oppose his ideas. Americans will not want to return to such a racially charged political atmosphere again. While Democrats claim to be the party of the common man, minorities, the poor, etc. they have a history of being the last to concede equal rights to minorities. Few people remember that Bull Connor was a Democrat and so were the founders of the Ku Klux Klan. The Democrats aren’t as open about it these days, but they’re doing just as much damage as those idiots wearing the bed sheets and dunce caps did so many generations ago.

The Latest Threat To the United States is me?

Well, it’s finally happened. The United States of America has finally labeled me as a threat to our country. I’m not alone though. I’m in good company. Considering the men and women that are included I’m damn proud of this new label.

The Department of Homeland Security has released a 9-page report labeling all military veterans returning from Iraq or Afghanistan as a threat to the United States of America. Holy crap! You mean I upheld my oath for over 20 years and because I deployed with my troops I’m now considered a threat? You mean that I’m actually a threat to the very nation that I swore to defend and even promised to give my life for if need be? Are you saying that I’m a threat to the very nation that I still uphold my oath for? You’re damn right, skippy! Now, let me tell you why.

Somewhere along the line people forgot what this great nation stands for. They forgot what principles made our country what it is. Somewhere along the line people forgot that our oath knows no allegiance to any political party or administration. Somewhere along the line people thought our oath was to an administration or a particular president. Our oath is to “…support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same…” That’s the bottom line. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see where our allegiance lies. It’s spelled out right there in the oath. “…I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same…” means “…the Constitution of the United States…” See? It’s pretty simple. Don’t make this any more difficult than it really is.

The real irony in all of this is that federal civil service employees take an oath very similar to the oath of enlistment for our military. How can our returning veterans be considered a threat for upholding an oath similar to that which the employees of the Department of Homeland Security take? There’s only one way that can happen and I hate to even consider it possible, but the answer is so obvious that it can’t be ignored.

The answer is that somebody has no intention of upholding their end of the bargain. Our returning veterans have already upheld their end so it must be the employees of the Department of Homeland Security. The very same employees that issued this report must have no intention of fulfilling their oath. It is a sad commentary on the state of our government when that very government starts to distance itself from the Constitution of the United States of America and then chastise those willing to lay down their lives to defend it.

Why am I so proud to be included with these people? I served with Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives. I served with a rainbow of people. There were whites, blacks, browns, reds & yellows. Some people volunteered and others got volunteered. No matter what their political beliefs, skin tone, religion, gender, branch of service, favorite NFL team or anything else that might separate us back home we were brothers in arms overseas. These people are now your police officers, fire fighters, emergency room doctors, shopkeepers, politicians, bartenders, federal civil service and every other profession you can imagine. They’re your aunts & uncles, mothers & fathers, sons & daughters, brothers & sisters and husbands & wives. These people ARE the United States of America. They are the “defenders of freedom”! How can they possibly be considered a threat?

That’s the fly in the ointment. That’s the real problem for the Department of Homeland Security. The only possible reason that these people can be considered a threat is because they upheld an oath to the Constitution of the United States of America and they may do so again should our government forget to uphold theirs. In that regard I’m proud to be considered a threat, but I’m not a threat to the United States of America. We’re a threat to those politicians that would attack our liberties and the Constitution of the United States of America. If our politicians are threatened by us then people like me just might be able to keep our politicians honest… if that’s possible.
